Nature's Fury

Sitting on my porch
I light my cigar and watch
As nature takes its toll.
Trees bow down,
A servant to its King.
They stay unpunished
For they know who's in control.
And man begins to find the truth,
As power goes out
And houses tear apart
With a grinding roar,
That they cannot control
This titan they try to bind.
Sparks fly as the chains are broken,
And the fury is unleashed.
Such an awesome sight,
The pure beauty of a storm.
Power in the raw.
A wrath as powerful
As any women's scorn.
A flash of light
And it's day again,
But only for a second.
A picture in real time.
So I pour some scotch
And smoke and watch.
